History Books

Through bitter, frantic language
Time manipulates truth-
Rusting in sleep with repulsive sadness.
Swimming in eternity,
The shadow of a thousand winters
Crawl beneath worship,
Fall behind faith,
Fail the dead
And trap the living.

Honly poops this is good :D. Concern with history is really a higher human expression. Outside of the world of fiction, looking at the past can be crude and at time paradoxical. But above all, it does trap us into something, perhaps something necessary for the hectic human mind... A trap to ground oneself, yet destructive to our very humanity.
